St. John is an unincorporated community in the southern boundary of Fayette County, Texas, United States. St. Johns is by no means a thriving community, but if there is anything that this small community/location is known for it would be their 4th of July church picnic. Though the immediate St. Johns community consist of about 15 persons, the church community is near 225. Although the thought of a church picnic to any regular could be conceived as a bland thought, these Germans and Czechs have not been up-rooted from their European heritage. This small time festival is an array of food (which is always fried chicken, beef stew, green beens, german potatoes, sauerkraut, peach halves & whatever the community donates for desert) polka music, beer, and good times.
